Research Interests

My main research interests emphasized on groundwater and surface water hydrology in arid land environment, including groundwater resources exploration, evaluation, and management as well as flood prediction and warning plus rainfall harvesting. Several studies of interest belong to this category such as: Strategic water storage in Makkah Al-Mukaramah region; spatial distribution of potential groundwater resources; urban groundwater rise studies; Conditional simulation for aquifer heterogeneity delineation using geostatistics; spatial distribution of environmental pollution in groundwater. Advanced and new technology application in hydrology is also of my interest. Among these, Artificial Intelligence (AI) particularly artificial neural network (ANN), fuzzy logic (FL), and Multi-criterion Decision Making (MCDM) in water resources problems. Recently, special interest has been devoted to 1) Bio-Engineering and Natural Purification techniques for wastewater treatment; 2) Quality production of bottled water in Saudi Arabia.
